Currently, NIMBYISM is doing enormous damage to the U.S and world economy. It appears that NIMBYISM is largely based around the dubious belief that the cost of housing rises monotonically (and dramatically) with height, such that taller buildings are more expensive, even on the most expensive land.

I believe that a map illustrating the cost-minimizing height of residential buildings in San Francisco will be an effective advocacy tool for YIMBY orgs; I am creating this prediction market largely to bring attention to this subject, as well as to guarantee that I haven't missed someone else's attempt to make and use such a map for YIMBY advocacy.

This market resolves YES IF:

• A map using estimates of land values, construction costs and the cost-optimal building heights in San Francisco is created and used for YIMBY advocacy.

• (Such a map of SF being posted and referenced on the social media of any YIMBY organization, including one not based in SF, will be a sufficient amount of YIMBY advocacy.)
