As of December 2022, online search engine Bing accounted for nearly nine percent of the global search market, while market leader Google had a share of around 84.08 percent. Meanwhile, Yahoo's market share was 2.55 percent. Because of integration with ChatGPT there is renewed interest in BING. This question is whether this market share will increase by 3% by the end of 2023 as reported by Statista in January of 2024 (see https://www.statista.com/statistics/216573/worldwide-market-share-of-search-engines)
@IsaacKohane Statista with this stat is usually 6 months trailing, so most likely will not see full year number until June 2024.
Would you consider re-opening until around that time?
@IsaacKohane I would actually wait for full year from Statista since the Windows update with Copilot did not come out until Nov/Dec 2023. Which could bring bing numbers up.
Bing showed growth to 9.19 percent as of June 2023. A jump to 12 percent would be quite surprising given BingChat had already been out for several months by June, and Bard is slowly gaining parity.
