Resolution criteria

This market will resolve to the player who wins Quarter 1 of the men's singles draw at the 2025 National Bank Open in Toronto. The winner is the player who advances to the semifinals from this quarter. Official results will be verified through the ATP Tour's official website: ATP Tour - National Bank Open.

Background

The 2025 National Bank Open, also known as the Canadian Open, is a prestigious ATP Masters 1000 event held on outdoor hard courts in Toronto from July 27 to August 7, 2025. Notably, top players such as Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, Jack Draper, and Novak Djokovic have withdrawn from the tournament due to various reasons, including injuries and fatigue. This has elevated Alexander Zverev and Taylor Fritz as the top seeds in their absence. (tomsguide.com)

Considerations

  • Alexander Zverev: As the top seed, Zverev is a strong contender. He recently achieved his 500th tour-level win after a comeback victory against Matteo Arnaldi. (as.com)

  • Holger Rune: The fifth seed, Rune, has shown consistent performance, including a recent win over Alexandre Muller. (reuters.com)

  • Francisco Cerúndolo: The 15th seed, Cerúndolo, advanced by defeating compatriot Tomas Etcheverry. (reuters.com)

  • Alexei Popyrin: The 20th seed and defending champion, Popyrin, recently upset 10th seed Daniil Medvedev in a three-set match. (reuters.com)

Given the withdrawals of several top players, the competition in Quarter 1 is more open, providing opportunities for these players to advance.

I am trying to get my head around this kind of market. Given that it all comes to 100% but there are more than 4 players competing, unless I am wrong, these should tend to be overpriced, and really the only rational bet is against? Or do I misunderstand?

@JussiVilleHeiskanen this is just who will advance to the semifinals from the 1st quarter/top part of the tournament bracket, one of these 4 is guaranteed to go that far

@Jessef0226 Thanks very much. I see there is a significant game starting in about 2 hours.
