This market is stemming out of a night discussion with friends. We brainstormed and listed down everything we'd want. Hopefully we get that robot.

I came up with an idea just now that I want in the world for some random business person to persue: A chain of robot barbers all throughout the world (or the US, or Silicon Valley, whatever) that can be linked to an app that will save your preferred haircut to ensure it’s the same every time, or different, should you choose that. After you get a haircut you like from a human barber, you can go in just to scan it for free, and at any time get the exact same haircut from the robot. This way, if you travel a lot, you can get the same haircut from anywhere.

@geuber_ to expand on your idea, how about if instead of just saving your preferred haircut, it can also use generative AI to show how you'd look with different haircuts, let you pick whatever you want and cut your hair accordingly?

@SimoneRomeo I don’t really get different haircuts, so I wasn’t really accounting for that, but that would be sick. Maybe add some sort of massive catalogue that you can have an AI help you choose from, too

@geuber_ and if you can train humanoid bots as the barber they could walk to the customers hotel doors as a part of the service

  • Will making an online order for food delivery qualify as "buying food on my behalf"?

  • What food it has to be able to cook?

  • Will self-driving car for less then 50k qualify as "driving my car"?

@intiluha

Will making an online order for food delivery qualify as "buying food on my behalf"?

  • Yes, as long as it buys it, takes it and stores it properly in the fridge/closets at home

What food it has to be able to cook?

  • A wide range of dishes. The food has to be fairly good but it doesn't need to be like a luxury restaurant

Will self-driving car for less then 50k qualify as "driving my car"?

  • It will not, the robot needs to be able to step into any car and drive it

@NivlacM 🤣🤣 as far as I'm concerned this resolves. (I want to emphasize that I didn't personally choose to write this option 🤣🤣)

what if there are multiple robots that each only do a subset of these?

does the robot need to have arms? or even just be able to move? some of the things on your list can already be done with very little manual intervention, no robot needed

@Jono3h give me a specific example

@Jono3h the idea is that we are looking for a robot to reduce the hustle of these tasks to the same extent of a human helper. So usually that would include some kind of movement, even though I'm frankly unable to guess what kind of creative solutions inventors may ideate. I resolved the market about opening cans because calling a human helper to open a can for you or using that tool makes practically no difference in terms of efforts. Washing dishes is obviously a different example because if you use a dishwasher, you still need to put a lot of efforts into cleaning up the table, storing the dishes, emptying the washer etc. The bug option is also a different kind, in that case it's not so much about finding a way to kill the bug but rather removing the user from the thinking process of something that some people find disgusting.

@SimoneRomeo well

I'm using a toxins to kill ants, repell mosquitos and trap wasps. The other insects don't bug me much.

@Jono3h this robot has to be able to take the spray, kill the bug, and particularly take the dead bug's carcass away from your view as soon as possible

@SimoneRomeo no, these are stuffs you place in your house, forget and then renew a month later

Cleaning home should be as versatile as a home cleaner.
