For context, I used to be pescatarian for 4/5 years. It was an easy transition because I rarely consumed meat but, still needed a lean source of protein. After some time (of healing my deficiencies and learning how to cook lol), I feel as if I’m confident with letting seafood go. So I became a vegetarian a month ago.

I made this decision after reading on the suffering of shrimp. It took some time but, this decision made the most sense in relation to my ethical concerns. And as of now….. I started reading Nick Cooney’s book on vegan economics titled “veganomics”. He makes many compelling arguments on why being vegan is the most effective dietary choice of reducing animal harm. So I’m intrigued 😅

As of now, the only animal-based products I consume are yogurt and eggs on a biweekly basis. Why? Because they’re the cheapest sources of high-protein (in my area) that are also easy and fast to prepare. I’m quite confident about yogurt being replaced but eggs? It’s really hard to say… but maybe (hopefully)!

This is usually what I consume in a perfect day:

Breakfast

Yogurt or eggs or avocados on toast

Lunch:

Vegetable-related dish with carbs on the side

Dinner:

Sandwich or the same as lunch

I will update if this changes or my consumption of eggs and yogurt increases.

@Tarl Thanks for sharing! and yeah you’re absolutely right. I think I have a preference for combining both major and minor efforts and doing what I can. But ultimately donating is the best option.

How do you cook your eggs? Try tofu for your breakfast protein source

sold Ṁ4 YES

@EstMtz usually have them boiled for a no-clean cooking. How do I make tofu for breakfast? it always tastes bland on the inside to me no matter how much I season it.

@anonbird you could scramble the tofu similar to a scrambled egg. Yeah, scrambling will help get more seasoning on the tofu bits. Do you season your boiled eggs?

@EstMtz I just have them with hot sauce. I’ll definitely try tofu scramble! Thanks for the tip.
