On April 20, 2025, @realDonaldTrump (but really Donald J. Trump, POTUS47) put out a hit on Pope Francis. Obviously the reason he chose Vance for VP is that he is a reliable, great, and amazing personal hit man. Vance visited the Vatican to meet Pope Francis on Easter Sunday. Francis died the next day, from the cyanide in the Chicago Bears jersey Vance gifted him.

This market resolves YES if someone else dies less than 5 days after meeting JD Vance during his term as Vice President. Otherwise, resolves NO.

Conditions:

• If Vance serves another term as President or VP from 2029-2033, this market will be extended until January 20, 2033. (Or if inauguration date is different, whenever his term ends.)

• If Trump dies and this market has not yet resolved YES, immediately resolves NO. This is because Trump couldn't place any more hits out. (Or can he? (jk))

• The visit must be confirmed by a mainstream news outlet (AP, ABC, NBC, NYT, WSJ, CBS, CNN) or firsthand source.

• The death must be confirmed by Wikipedia.

• If Vance is visiting a dying family member or personal (non-politician) friend (if he has any), it does not count for this market. As a metric for this, I will probably see if the person has a Wikipedia page or not, unless there are special cases (e.g. it turns out JD Vance and Pete Davidson have been friends since preschool and JD Vance visits Pete Davidson before he dies).

• If the person Vance is visiting is known to be dying soon and he is doing like a "last chance to meet them" visit doesn't count unless Vance was one of the last 10 people to see them as reported by mainstream news outlets (see above) or firsthand sources. If no data is available, market closes and resolves to a poll.

• If person has ever been on the Time 100 list and Vance is the last politician (widely known, national) to visit them, resolves 75%

• If anything is in the gray area, I reserve the right to close the market and resolve to a poll.

• If anything in these rules don't make sense or there should be another clarification, please share your thoughts in the comments.
