Resolves YES if an automated Hawk-Eye or similar system is the primary source of balls-and-strikes calls, OR if pitchers, catchers and/or batters can appeal a human umpire's call (and have it overturned) with such a system, in a regular-season MLB game.

Resolves NO if such a system is only used in an exhibition; or informationally in a game; or not instituted. I will close the market and resolve NO if MLB declares that automation will not be used in 2024.

@mods Creator account deleted. Resolves NO; MLB isn't doing this this year; they're talking maybe doing the appeals system in 2025 spring training for regular season deployment in 2026.

@SEE shouldn't we wait until the season is over?

@jacksonpolack The original criteria above includes the statement "I will close the market and resolve NO if MLB declares that automation will not be used in 2024." MLB, per the article I linked, said that it won't be used in regular season games until after it's been tested in spring training in 2025.

But, no, it's not really a big deal to wait two weeks for absolute confirmation that MLB won't precipitously implement it at the tail-end of this season.

@MattMay Resolves NO.

Back on May 23, 2024, the MLB commissioner declared there'd be no ABS at the major league level until 2026 at earliest.
